I have recently had constituents contact me as part of a
number of campaigns regarding President Trump, his comments on the NHS during
the recent State Visit, and any future trade agreements with the US.
I am pleased to confirm that President Trump retracted his
comments regarding the NHS, on national television the day after he said them.
I disagree with a number of things that President Trump
stands for, and if he had stuck to his guns regarding a trade deal with the US
involving the NHS, this would have been one of them.
I am pleased to see that the NHS is not ‘on the table’ with
any future trade deals with the US, and if it was, I would oppose it.
