A number of you have sent me emails entitled “Leave
the EU without a deal in March 2019” or similar.
As you can see from other statements already posted
here I remain totally committed to supporting a deal that honours the
referendum in a meaningful way.
If we can strike trading terms with our EU
neighbours then it will make sense to do so – but not at any price. We have yet
to achieve that and so whilst it is not my favoured option, I would be prepared
to leave the EU with no deal. It is also essential from a negotiating point of
view that the EU knows we will pursue that if they are not more forthcoming.
