A number of constituents have written to me
regarding the recent campaign asking MPs to divest their pension of fossil fuel
industries.
I completely understand what an important issue
climate change is to many in St Austell and Newquay and indeed, many around the
world.
I have long since been a supporter of various
environmental groups including Green Peace, Surfers Against Sewerage and other
Ocean conservation organisations. I welcome further interest and support from
constituents.
I was delighted to be able to join my colleagues in
signing the pledge.
Even though many positive steps have been taken by
this Government I realise there is much more to do and I will continue to work
hard on this important issue.
