A number of constituents have sent me a copy on a
campaign email entitled “Extension of Transition Period.”
I fear this latest attempt to reopen a debate that
was resoundingly settled both at the referendum and at the last general
election is deeply flawed and wrong.
As widely reported across the media today the
government will not be asking for an extension to the deadline. I fully support
this statement.
It is imperative that businesses and families have
continued clarity on the timetable following the transition period and I
welcome this confirmation.
